Halloween Makeup Special in Sacramento: A One-Weekend-Only Menu From Bella

Every October the studio inbox fills up with the same three notes: “Do you do Halloween looks?”, “Can you make me look like a Victorian ghost?”, and “My partner signed us up for a costume party and I need to be talked off the ledge.” The answer this year is yes — but only through Oct 31, and only by phone or the contact form.

I’m Bella, and Beauty & Balance by Bella is a licensed esthetician studio in downtown Sacramento. Makeup is on pause from the regular menu right now, but I’m running a limited Halloween Makeup Special for the week around Oct 31 because Sacramento shouldn’t have to settle for Party City eyeshadow.

What’s included

• A 45- to 60-minute makeup application at the downtown studio, tailored to whatever look you’re bringing.
• A quick 10-minute pre-consult a day or two before — text or call — so I can order the right shades and make sure your reference photo is achievable.
• Skin prep: a light cleanse, tone, and hydrating primer so the makeup actually sits well for hours.
• Setting + touch-up notes so it holds through party photos, a bar crawl in Midtown, or a rooftop night in DOCO.

Looks I’ll happily do

• Subtle chic: classic red lip, defined liner, “I’m at a Halloween party but I still want to look like me.” Popular with brides doing engagement shoots that weekend.
• Full glam: smoky eye, sculpted cheek, long-wear everything — camera-ready for a party photographer.
• Gothic / Victorian: paler base, dark cut crease, deep berry or oxblood lip. The “wife of a Sacramento vampire” assignment.
• Costume support: witch, siren, disco-ball, that one Halsey era — if you have a Pinterest board, send it.
• Couples / pairs (limited slots): two complementary looks back-to-back — message me for a quote.

Looks I won’t take on this week

• Prosthetics, latex builds, or heavy SFX work — that’s a specialty skill and I’ll refer you to a Sacramento SFX artist if you need one.
• Wound / gore that requires liquid latex on broken or sensitive skin.
• Group party bookings of five or more — the studio is a one-practitioner space.

How much does it cost?

Because this is a one-off special and each look takes a different amount of time, prices are quoted at the pre-consult based on complexity and duration. Ballpark: think event-day makeup territory, not a $25 mall counter application. Sacramento prices are honest, not luxury — and you’re getting a licensed esthetician, not a first-year cosmetology student practicing on your face.

Lead time — please read this part

The last week of October fills up fast. If you’re reading this before Oct 20, you’ll have your pick of times. If you’re reading this on Oct 30 — call, don’t email, and I’ll tell you honestly whether I can squeeze you in.

Booking deadline: Oct 31 for same-week appointments. After Nov 1 the Halloween menu goes away until next October.

Studio logistics

• Where: Downtown Sacramento (address shared on booking confirmation).
• Parking: Metered street parking is free after 6 p.m. Most Halloween slots run 4 p.m. onward, so parking is easy.
• What to bring: Your costume or the top piece you’ll be wearing (I’ll match the makeup’s palette to it), a hair tie, and any lash strips you already own if you’re attached to a specific brand.
• Cancellation: Please give 24 hours’ notice. On Halloween weekend the schedule is tight and last-minute cancellations can’t always be rebooked.

One quick FAQ before you go
